Ancient Greeks
Lots of information about the history of mathematics but this one takes a long time to load or is it just me?

Fibonacci Numbers and Nature
A large collection of ideas, information and investigation - who would believe that Fibonacci numbers and the Golden Section could be so interesting?

Fractal Explorer
A tutorial on fractals - not for the faint hearted but some interesting graphics which really can help to bring the subject alive.

Fun with Numbers
The site says that 'Number are Fun' and, after visiting this site, you might even be convinced about the fact.

Images of Mathematicians on Postage Stamps
If you ever wondered what Rene Descartes, Sofia Kovalevskaya or Henri Poincare looked like, then this is the site for you. Lots and lots of images of famous mathematicians as depicted on postage stamps across the world.

Mandelbrot Explorer
Some very interesting graphics - lots of potential but the site is still being developed.

Mathematical Quotations
Louis Pasteur once said that "Chance favours only the prepared mind" and how true that is.... if you enjoy mathematical quotations then this site is well worth a visit - try the random mathematical quotations.

Maths Year 2000
Now renamed Count On....this is the child of Maths Year 2000. Well worth a visit with lots of information for the teacher in the classroon - you can even send your friends a mathematical postcard.

MathWorld
An online encyclopaedia of information about mathematics describing itself as the most extensive on the internet but be patient when you load this one.

NRICH
One of my favourite sites with something for everybody - teachers and students will find plenty to keep them gainfully occupied and interested.....and how delightful to see mathematics presented so well.

Platonic Realms
This unusually named website is a real miscellany of mathematics and provides a collection of mathematical quotes, historical notes and a series of 'mini texts' containing all manner of notes from a discussion on infinity to coping with maths anxiety.

UK National Lottery Winning Numbers
It probably won't improve your chances on the lottery but it certainly will provide you with lots of statistical information about the National Lottery winning numbers, jackpots and numbers of winners.

Women Mathematicians
At long last, a web page devoted entirely to providing biographies of women in mathematics ..... and not just the usual pitiful few that most sites provide. The pages are part of an on-going project by students at Agnes Scott College in Atlanta, Georgia and well worth a visit.

World of Escher
Was Escher a mathematician or an artist? This site is exactly what you would expect and you won't be disappointed.
