COMPUTER PUZZLES.....
Here are a selection of my favourite puzzles for use in the computer room. These are mathematical games, making use of mathematical thinking - so if you enjoy them, then just remember that mathematics really CAN be fun.
I hope that you find them interesting and enjoyable - if you know of any other puzzles to include on this page, then please let me know.

Bridges
Can you make a bridge across the board quicker than the computer? But be warned that the computer is VERY GOOD at this...well it has had lots of practice! |
Fiver
An extremely annoying game of strategy (not for the faint hearted) where the intention is to turn all the white counters to black counters .....sounds quite easy!! |
Jigsaw
A totally new way to solve jigsaw puzzles and no chance of losing pieces on the floor.....and remember that this is mathematics because it involves spatial awareness. |
Mastermind
The idea is to guess the sequence of four colored pegs which the computer has selected. You just have to try and guess the order.... EASY....no it isn't!!! |
Rubik's Cube
Now this truly is amazing......a unique opportunity to solve a three dimensional puzzle in two dimensional space. This problem will certainly tax your spatial skills! |
Tower
The idea is to move the discs on the Tower of Hanoi from the left peg to the right peg...in the smallest number of moves....and while the computer times you. |
Triplets
This time, the idea is to be the first to make three in a row horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. When you get the hang of this you can always try changing the size of the grid. |
